Smart City Landscape 2015 – Transpiring to the future

Due to rapid urbanisation, the urban infrastructure as on date is inadequate to meet the demands of the existing urban population and with the increased number of population migrating to urban settlements, an ardent need for re-generation of urban areas in existing cities and the creation of smart cities is there to satiate the northward demands. Future cities of India should be on the lines of smart real estate and urban infrastructure to match the global cities in terms of habitat, environment and services.
Essentially, the pillars of any city including Institutional Infrastructure, Governance, Physical and Social Infrastructure cater to the basic requirements of the denizens. In other words, a Smart City works towards ensuring the best for all its people, regardless of social status, age, income levels, gender, etc.
Smart City Landscape 2015, to be held in Delhi on 10-11 September, aims to cater to the current and pertinent issues of the industry by discussing the vital role of The Indian Government and infrastructure stakeholders while analyzing the various strategies, technological capabilities and potential considerations for implementing, developing and cementing a viable Smart City plan to objectify the plans charted out for 100 smart cities in India.
This uniquely designed summit will give you the chance to meet and network with potential buyers through various sessions, put in place, to ensure that you get the maximum return on the time and money that you invest.

ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability seeks to build an international policy environment that strengthens local government and supports local sustainability. To facilitate this, ICLEI coordinates local government representation in several UN organizations. Our contributions in the form of side events, publications, verbal interventions and official background papers have been a consistent, major source of international attention to local initiatives and opportunities to enhance sustainability.

ICLEI helps strengthen the capacity of local government officials and leaders to drive a process of change towards sustainable development. ICLEI’s Global Capacity Centre (formerly the International Training Centre) organizes seminars, workshops, and conferences, and offers distance training, study tours, and exchange programs. Regular conferences focused on capacity building and exchange take place globally and regionally.
ICLEI South Asia offers local governments a range of services that support training and capacity building on a number of topics such as carbon emission inventorisation, vulnerability assessment, resilience strategy development, integrated water management, holistic waste management, urban mobility and local biodiversity planning. These trainings are sometimes included in programmes and projects, but could also be designed as stand-alone initiatives.
Conferences organized by ICLEI South Asia also provide opportunities for peer exchanges and capacity building, such as the Asia LEDS Partnership Forums and the Resilient Cities Asia Pacific Congresses.
Technical and consulting services, as well as event organization, are provided on a contract basis, in a variety of areas including:
- Surveys, best practices identification and documentation, methodological research, and other studies;
- Development of pilot and demonstration projects;
- Fee-for-service technical consulting in key management areas relevant to local government.
