EHCC: New Delhi, Kochi and Coimbatore are finalists
Seventeen cities from across the world made it to the final round of the Earth Hour City Challenge, a global initiative by WWF and ICLEI designed to mobilize low carbon action in cities by engaging them in a climate- friendly competition.
These seventeen were chosen out of 66 cities that participated from 6 countries: Canada, India, Italy, Norway, Sweden and the United States. India was the first developing country to join this initiative. Of the six Indian cities selected initially — Bhubhaneshwar, Cochin, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and New Delhi – New Delhi, Kochi and Coimbatore were selected to go through to the final round.
