Kick-Starting of Investment Grade Energy Audits on Two RMC Buildings in Rajkot under Building Efficiency Accelerator Project
SE4ALL Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) assists sub-national governments to improve the energy efficiency of buildings in their jurisdictions to reduce energy costs, create new market opportunities and reduce pollution. ICLEI South Asia is one of the key partners in the SE4ALL Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) in South Asia region. ICLEI South Asia Rajkot office is the BEA Local Lead Partner organisation and will assist the City in planning and implementing building efficiency actions.
As a part of the project ICLEI South Asia has appointed GSH ENERGY SERVICES PVT LTD., Ahmedabad to perform Investment Grade energy Audits (IGA) on two selected RMC buildings viz. RMC Central Zone Office Building and RMC Multi-activity centre at Nana Mauva in Rajkot in order to identify the current status of energy performance of the selected buildings and advice on potential cost-efficient measures to improve it.
Officials from GSH Energy Services Private Limited visited Rajkot city in the last week of September and kick-started the implementation of project activities by having an introductory meeting with Municipal Commissioner Mr. Banchha Nidhi Pani and other RMC officials, and taking the site visit of the two municipal buildings.
The duration of the assignment is for two months and upon the completion by mid-November, an investment grade audit report will be submitted to ICLEI South Asia and Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC). The IGA will look into details of technical measures including the economic benefits of implementing them. IGA report will also propose suitable financing modality including its approach for bankable proposals.
