Melaka Chief Minister Visits ICLEI South Asia Office in Delhi
A high level delegation from the state of Melaka, Malayasia, headed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron paid a visit to the ICLEI South Asia Delhi office on the 31st of October, 2017. YB Datuk Ar. Hj. Ismail bin Hj. Othman, Melaka State Executive Councillor for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Ybhg. Datuk Zainal bin Hussin, Mayor of Melaka Historic City Council and YBhg. Datuk Hj. Kamarudin bin Md. Shah, CEO, Melaka Green Technology Corporation, Melaka were also part of the delegation.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister and members of his delegation were welcomed by Mr. Emani Kumar, Deputy Secretary General, ICLEI and Executive Director, ICLEI South Asia, along with other staff members.
The delegation was briefed by Mr. Kumar about the present work of ICLEI South Asia as well as the activities planned at COP 23 in Bonn. Discussions were also held on the upcoming ALP Forum and RCAP in Vietnam in the month of December 2017. The previous RCAP has been hosted by the city of Melaka in 2016.
While appreciating the work being carried out by ICLEI South Asia, the Hon’ble Chief Minister mentioned that the steps being taken by the organisation presently will pave way for a brighter and sustainable future.
