The Urban Low Emission Development Strategies (Urban LEDS) aims to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions in cities/towns in emerging economies (Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia and South Africa), and least developed countries (Bangladesh, Lao PDR and Rwanda).

The ALP is a voluntary regional network that promotes and enables low-emission, climate-resilient development across the Asia and Pacific region through peer-to-peer learning, knowledge sharing, and improved coordination and cooperation among governmental and non-governmental partners.

The CDKN programme aims to create an enabling environment for implementation and scaling climate and development actions in order to drive inclusive, sustainable and climate resilient development, and enhance the quality of life for the poorest and most vulnerable to climate change.

The project aims to highlight EcoLogistics as a priority area for local and national governments as it is barely considered despite its heavy contribution to GHG emissions. It is supporting pilot cities in 3 countries - Argentina, Columbia and India.

The project aims to mainstream biodiversity across city-regions in India, Brazil, and Tanzania. It fosters synergies between climate protection and biodiversity by conserving and restoring ecosystems essential to achieving the overall goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The project engages with national, state and city level governments, in order to mainstream climate action in select Indian cities by enhancing capacities to adopt integrated climate resilient planning, design innovative finance mechanisms and develop climate resilient infrastructure.

IGES Center Collaborating with UNEP on Environmental Technologies (IGES – CCET) works with UNEP-IETC to provide guidance on waste management strategies and their implementation. In India, ICLEI South Asia is supporting the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in developing a plastic waste management strategy and action plan for the city.

Urbanisation has led to the acceleration of pollution, which has had an impact on the biodiversity of Gangtok region. Mainstreaming biodiversity conservation and natural resource management into urban planning is initiated through this project to ensure sustainable development.

Globally the project aims at providing support and guidance to target countries (India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa) and exploring approaches to support vertically integrated climate action through dialogues and capacity building on multi-level governance and reporting.

Mandated as per the Biological Diversity Act, 2002, each Biodiversity Management Committee has to document the biological diversity and traditional ecological knowledge in the form of People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR). ICLEI South Asia provides technical support in the development of these PBRs.

ICLEI South Asia supported Nagpur Municipal Corporation in the development of the People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR) and also developed an illustrated urban biodiversity map of Nagpur. The PBR is maintained by the Biodiversity Management Committee of the local body (urban as well as rural).

The project aims to support the Government of India and State Governments to effectively promote sustainable land and forest management in alpine pastures and forests in high range Indian Himalayan ecosystems that secure sustainable livelihoods and ensures conservation of globally significant biodiversity and threatened species.

BVLeerF’s Urban 95 approach focuses on developing the city's built environment with the perspective of a 1-5-year-old. Assuming the children of this age group most vulnerable and still the future of the city this approach aims to make the city safe and welcoming for all.

The project aims at developing the City Biodiversity Index and estimating the green cover in GHMC area. The results will help the city corporation to plan and better conserve the urban biodiversity.
